First week back at the gym checklist

Use this simple list to make the return smaller, clearer, and easier to repeat. It is general education—not medical or rehabilitation advice.

Before the first visit

  • Choose one realistic day and a time window you can protect.
  • Decide whether you will use the standard gym or supported dumbbells at home.
  • Pick clothing, shoes, water, and any essentials the night before.
  • Make the target simple: complete one useful session, not a perfect comeback.

At the gym

  • Start with a prepared session or a deliberately small plan.
  • Use equipment that is available rather than waiting for an exact old setup.
  • Leave room to make the next visit possible; you do not need to prove where you used to be.
  • Record enough to know what the next useful step is.

After the visit

  • Choose the next realistic training window before the week gets crowded.
  • Do not add make-up sessions to repay a missed calendar.
  • Continue from the next prepared session when you return.

Strength Foundations is Pike Pursuit’s self-directed membership for U.S. adults who can train with supported home dumbbells or in a standard gym. It prepares one full-body session at a time and keeps your place through a rolling sequence.
